The Digital Cellular Modem Rack System is part of Nuri Telecom’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) connectivity solution for C&I (commercial and industrial) applications. The Rack System provides direct GSM/CDMA communication with C&I meters, connected to Nuri’s Digital Cellular Modems.

The meter utilization data and power quality information is communicated to the AiMiR Head End Server located at the utility data center via Digital Cellular Rack System, over a GSM/CDMA network through a Terminal Server.

The Modem Rack System is designed to house up to 15 GSM/CDMA modem cards and can be installed in a 19" standard rack. The Rack System is connected to a Terminal Server through RS-232C interface to transports traffic via TCP/IP to and from AiMiR Head End Server. The system includes dual power supply modules to provide seamless operation even when one power supply module goes down. This highly scalable and cost effective C&I AMI allows utilities to take advantage of a wide range of cutting-edge Smart Grid applications, including advanced metering, outage and restoration detection, demand response, innovative tariffs, remote connect and disconnect, and others.
