NURI Telecom awarded the contract for PLC modem supply for KEPCO's residential Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) implementation in Korea.

Nov 26 2013 — NURI Telecom announced today that the company has selected as a supplier of the PLC(Power Line Communication) modem for Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO)'s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) implementation project for residential electricity customers. As part of the signed contract, the company will deliver 77,000 PLC modems to deploy AMI for KEPCO's residential customers in Jeolla province, located in the south western part of the Korea Peninsula. Since 2000, KEPCO has deployed the AMR/AMI system using NURI's truly two-way communications Cellular (CDMA) solution for over 180,000 commercial &industrial(C&I) customers throughout the country. Ever since, the company has deployed more than 600,000 measuring points using diverse communication technologies such as Cellular, GPRS, RF, Fiber, PLC etc. in many countries and stands today as the AMI technologies/solution provider with in-depth industry knowledge about the Communication Infrastructure for smart energy networks.
