Won 2008 Minister's Award - ZigBee Meter interface unit for Electricity

11 Nov 2008—Yung Duk Kim, a managing director of AiMiR business at NURI Telecom Co., Ltd. has recently won a Minister’s award for 2008 NET(New Excellent Technology)/NEP(New Excellent Product) Commercialization & Promotion Award from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) in recognition of his contributions toward the development and exporting of ZigBee metering system.

The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) under Ministry of Knowledge Economy gives a prize for an enterprise to reward its export Achievements and NEP(New Excellent Product) and/or NET(New Excellent Technology) certificated product competitiveness once a year.

In 2006, NURI Telecom Co., Ltd. achieved NEP(New Excellent Product) certificate for the ZigBee-based electricity meter interface unit for the AMR for the first time in Korea. Enabling a new generation of wireless mesh communications in 2.4 GHz ISM band using ZigBee, the international wireless standard, this ZigBee device could be embedded with the electricity meters which comply with KEPCO, IEC1107 or ANSI standard.
